Slash chords – in short, the lowest note is different to the chord root note. In these examples, the first A, has A as its root – it is not a slash chord. The 2nd chord, F/A is a slash chord – F is the chord but A is the lowest note.
Try and play these. They can all be played within the first three frets (not sure what a fret is? then check out my Guitar Goodies tab and under that select Parts Of An Acoustic Guitar). By the way, you’ll need to know where notes are on the guitar to enable you to do this exercise.
There’ll be more coming!
